Maxim Berin, representative of Anna Netrebko, spoke about the success of the singer in Monte Carlo
MOSCOW, April 28 – RIA Novosti. Maxim Berin, head of Berin Iglesias Holding, Anna Netrebko’s exclusive representative in Russia, the CIS and the Baltic countries, told RIA Novosti that the singer’s performance in Giacomo Puccini’s Manon Lescaut in Monte Carlo was a great success.
“The premiere was a great success. The whole hall received a standing ovation. (audience standing ovation – Approx. ed.). He didn’t let her go for fifteen minutes. Incredible international press around the world,” Berin shared.

The next screenings of “Manon Lescaut” will be on April 27 and 30. According to the singer’s representative, all tickets are sold out.
“Other solo concerts are planned in Paris, La Scala, Madrid, Tel Aviv and Verona,” added Berin.
Netrebko performs the main part – Manon Lescaut. Diva replaced Maria Agresta. The reason for the relocation is that the Italian singer fell ill, a message about it seen April 14 on the theater site.
Anna’s husband Yusif Eyvazov is also involved in the production. His character is Manon’s lover, Chevalier de Grieux.
Both Eyvazov and Netrebko know these roles well – they have already performed them. For example, in 2016, the debut of the opera diva at the Bolshoi Theater took place at Manon Lescaut. The production was directed by Adolf Shapiro.
Based on the novel by Puccini’s opera Abbé Prevost. At the center of the plot is the tragic love of Manon and de Grieux. There are many trials on the way and the couple’s destiny is never to reach happiness.
In early March, the Metropolitan Opera announced that Netrebko would not participate in upcoming productions, as Netrebko did not comply with the requirement to withdraw public support for Russian President Vladimir Putin during the events in Ukraine. For the same reason, the Bavarian State Opera broke off relations with him.
On March 2, it became known that the singer decided to take a break from concert activities.
At the end of March, Netrebko published a post in which he stated that he did not belong to political parties and did not support any Russian leader. He then said that he would return to the stage at the end of May.
