The Sharjah Arab Cultural Club organized a plastic exhibition by the artist Naglaa Ali Hassan, in the presence of the chairman of the board of directors of the club, Dr. Omar Abdulaziz, and a group of plastic artists.
Naglaa Ali is an artist specializing in the art of patchwork, which is the reuse of fabric scraps using professional artistic methods and visible engraving on compressed cork fabric. Mostly women’s clothing and accessories.
The works on display show the artist’s professionalism and skill in exquisite painting with embroidery, the precision of the work and his sensitivity in choosing the cultural traits of each society. As a specialist in sewing and crafts, she specializes in recycling projects and pioneering initiatives: “Productive hands to teach crafts to marginalized women and strong people” in several countries. He is also a fashion designer specializing in traditional and stage wear and graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of “English”, Cairo University and has published several books and articles.
The works featured women’s faces in their clothing and jewelry, reflected the characteristics and cultures of various Arab, Egyptian, Palestinian, Gulf, Sudanese, Iraqi, and Yemeni societies, and were known for their fine detail and precise choice of colors. His works were a sophisticated artistic documentation of aspects of the culture of Arab societies through jewelry and women’s clothing.
