The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation is organizing an art exhibition by Iraqi artist Alaa Bashir titled “Oblivion” on Wednesday at 7:30 pm sharp in the exhibition hall of the foundation building on Al-Raqqa Street, St. a symposium on the artist’s experience in half a century, during which Ala Bashir talks about his artistic trajectory from the beginning to the present.
Artist Ala Bashir is considered one of the pioneers of the Iraqi plastic movement since the early fifties of the last century.
And he puts us in a brilliant formation before the facts, and he turned completely away from private affairs to public affairs, and his artistic creation became a question mark that embodies the whole crisis of human existence. Artist Alaa Bashir was born in 1939, studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad, graduated in Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine in Baghdad and was a fellow at the Royal Academy of Surgery in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He is a member of the UK Association of Fine Artists and has participated in over 50 exhibitions. Public and private exhibitions around the world and works by him are in museums in England, France, United States, Qatar, Jordan and Iraq.
He has also received numerous awards in various countries. Alaa Bashir is unique in his surrealist style and he paid no attention to western art styles and schools and developed his own style technique that depicts the scene and idea and takes the viewer to the root of the idea and doesn’t care about the color. or formal motives, so he minimizes colors and is not concerned with formally improving the work, but with conveying an idea, a question and a crisis point of view.
Alla Bashir had her first artistic experience painting impressionist paintings in the 1950s, then the artistic style gradually changed in the late 1960s to embrace surrealism, as her paintings are characterized by wide space and color gradations.
