The Federation Council re-elected Konstantin Kosachev as vice-chairman of the chamber
MOSCOW, October 4 – RIA Novosti. The Federation Council re-elected Konstantin Kosachev as deputy speaker of the parliament at its meeting on Tuesday.
Yury Zaytsev, who previously held the post of Mari El chairman, reappointed the current senator and vice-president of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev from the regional government to the Federation Council by signing a relevant decree.
Konstantin Kosachev was appointed a senator from the Mari El government in September 2015, in September 2017 the former president of the republic, Alexander Evstifeev, expanded his powers.
Prior to that, since December 2014, he was the representative of the Chuvashian government in the Federation Council and previously served as the head of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Citizens Living Abroad and the Federal Agency for International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo).
As vice-chairman, Kosachev coordinates the activities of the Federation Council, international relations, scientific, educational and cultural committees with inter-parliamentary cooperation.
