Ambassador Labetsky: BRICS will only get stronger in new political conditions
BRAZIL, 6 October – RIA Novosti. Russian Ambassador to Brazil Alexei Labetsky believes that BRICS will strengthen in new political conditions and will continue to be one of the most important instruments in the global economy.
“BRICS is an ever-expanding, already established international communication format with its own weight, voice and agenda. I have no doubt that BRICS will grow stronger in the future, not only expanding the format, but continuing to be one of the most important tools in the global economy,” he said.
BRICS unites Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. A number of countries, including Argentina and Iran, want to join the economic bloc.
The West has increased the pressure on Russia to impose sanctions on Ukraine, which has caused electricity, fuel and food prices to rise in Europe and the United States. Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated that the policy of controlling and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West and that the sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main purpose of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people. The Russian Federation has repeatedly stated that Russia will solve all the problems that the West has created for itself.
