Putin and Erdogan discussed the situation in Ukraine over the phone
ANKARA, 7 October – RIA Novosti. In a statement made by the Turkish leader’s office, it was stated that the Presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, had a telephone conversation.
During the talks, the development of Russian-Turkish relations and the situation in Ukraine were discussed.
Erdogan said Ankara is ready to do everything in its power to find a peaceful solution to the Ukraine crisis for the benefit of all.
Russia has been conducting military operations in Ukraine since February 24. Vladimir Putin described his mission as “protecting people who have been subjected to eight years of bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime”. According to him, the ultimate goal is the liberation of Donbass and the creation of conditions that guarantee Russia’s security.
