More than one million refugees from Ukraine have been registered in Germany. Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) gave the news portal T-Online the number 1.002.763. “We saved the lives of many women and children from Ukraine,” said the SPD politician.
Faeser spoke of a humanitarian effort. “The longer the war lasts, the harder it is to house and care for so many refugees,” the minister said. He invited local and state representatives to coordinate refugee assistance next Tuesday.
