The Petersburg Dialogue, a civil society forum between Germany and Russia, is on the verge of collapse due to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. At the forum held in Berlin on Tuesday, it was decided to dissolve the general assembly in the first quarter of 2023 as part of the extraordinary general assembly at the request of the board of directors.
The board of directors was asked to take the necessary steps.
The reason given was:

Petersburg Dialogue was launched in 2001 by Russian President Vladimir Putin and then Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
The initiative was conceived as a bilateral conference dedicated to current social issues and questions of German-Russian relations. The participants are experts and multipliers from all areas of German and Russian society.
Ronald Pofalla and Viktor Zubkov as presidents
Its members are people from public life who work voluntarily to shape the aims and tasks of the dialogue. The co-chairs of the St. Petersburg Dialogue are Ronald Pofalla (from the German side) and Viktor Zubkov (from the Russian side).
Funding comes from political and private foundations, commercial companies from Germany and Russia, and the federal government and the government of the Russian Federation.
