Twitter owner Elon Musk wants to support Florida governor Ron DeSantis in the 2024 election campaign. The Twitter platform should be fair to all candidates.
Elon Musk, owner of the Twitter news service, has promised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis assistance in the event of his presidential candidacy. When asked by a Twitter user whether he would support the Republican in the next 2024 election, Musk succinctly replied “Yes”. “But Twitter as a platform should be fair to everyone,” he later added.
Following his re-election in November, DeSantis is considered the strongest possible intra-party opponent of the voted former President Donald Trump. Trump announced in mid-November that he was seeking re-election for the Republican nomination.
Elon Musk disappointed in Joe Biden
Before his answer, Musk wrote that he wanted a “reasonable and moderate” candidate for the 2024 election. “I was hoping it would be the same for the Biden administration, but so far I’ve been disappointed.”
He voted, albeit reluctantly, for current Democrat President Joe Biden in the most recent election.
He had previously supported the government of Barack Obama and then his deputy Biden (2009-2017). Musk bought Twitter for about $44 billion at the end of October. Already in the middle of the year, he stated that he was leaning towards DeSantis.
