Historian Timothy Garton Ash denied responsibility for the term “scholzing”. The term spread in the context of German tank deliveries.
British historian and Germany expert Timothy Garton Ash (67) said that a recent famous tweet about Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is not copyrighted.
The historian has repeatedly been credited with the ironically intended definition of the word “scholzing” circulating on Twitter. However, Garton Ash writes in an article for the English “Guardian” that he was certainly not the originator of the term. He just retweeted the hilarious tweet and circulated it on WhatsApp.
