Peskov: The appointment of Poklonskaya was an offer that met their wishes
MOSCOW, June 14 – RIA Novosti. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the appointment of Natalia Poklonskaya to the post of adviser to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation was, apparently, a proposal that corresponds to the wishes of Poklonskaya.
Answering a question about the reasons for Poklonskaya’s appointment to this special position, Peskov said, “It seems that this was an offer, and this offer corresponded to the wishes of Poklonskaya herself.”
On Tuesday, Natalya Poklonskaya was appointed as an adviser to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.
Earlier on Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree removing Poklonskaya from the post of deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo.
Poklonskaya was appointed vice-president of Rossotrudnichestvo in early February. In this position she oversaw the protection of the rights of citizens abroad, as well as the culture and art department.
