Peskov hopes Macron, Draghi and Scholz don’t focus on guns
MOSCOW, June 16 – RIA Novosti. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi to Kyiv, the grain issue will probably be discussed, while the essence of Ukraine’s stance is not yet clear.
Macron, Scholz and Draghi arrived in Kiev on Thursday morning to visit.
“Of course, the grain issue will be discussed. We all know that we still cannot understand the essence of Ukraine’s stance on grain. We know that our country, announced by the President, is ready to contribute to the solution. We know other efforts, our Turkish colleagues, etc., but we know whether Ukraine wants this, whether it is ready or not. We still don’t know if it’s not, because they’re silent. “This subject will of course be addressed,” said Peskov.
The Kremlin also hopes that the leaders of France, Germany and Italy in Kiev will not focus on pumping weapons into Ukraine that will prolong the suffering of the people, but will encourage Volodymyr Zelensky to really look into the situation.
“I also hope that the leaders of these three countries and the Romanian President who will be with them are already there, I just hope that they will not concentrate on supporting Ukraine more. It is absolutely useless, it will prolong people’s suffering, it will do more harm to this country. On the contrary, let’s hope they use this contact to encourage President Zelensky to really look. situation,” added Peskov.
