Former British PM Blair: Western domination will end soon, Russia won’t be the reason
MOSCOW, 17 July/ Radio Sputnik. Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, in a speech at an event of the Ditchley Foundation, said that the era of a unipolar world dominated by the West has come to an end. The text of his speech was published on the website of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
“The biggest geopolitical changes in this century will be provoked by China, not Russia. The end of Western dominance in politics and economy is near. The world will become at least bipolar, possibly multipolar” – nail former RBC Prime Minister.
Blair said that for the first time in modern history East and West could be “on an equal footing” and pointed out that the PRC is already the world’s “second most powerful superpower”.
The former head of the British government added that Beijing is becoming less and less ceremonial with the West, trying to strengthen its ties with Moscow and pursuing a more aggressive international policy.
The politician concluded that the relationship between the West and China should be built on the basis of mutual respect.
Tony Blair led the British government from 1997 to 2007.
Earlier, Radio Sputnik reported that Senator Konstantin Kosachev called the Great Eurasian Partnership “the future of humanity.”
