Bibilov conceded defeat in the second round of the presidential elections in South Ossetia
MOSCOW, May 8 – RIA Novosti. The current president of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, conceded defeat in the second round of the presidential election.
He congratulated his opponent Alan Gagloev on his victory.
“I believe that the elections have been held, you all know the results. I wish Alan Eduardovich successful work for the benefit of the people of the Republic of South Ossetia and I really hope that everything will work out for him,” he said.
The final turnout in the presidential elections in South Ossetia was 68.2 percent, excluding data outside the republic. If more than 30 percent of the voters participate, the elections will be considered valid. The winner is determined by a simple majority of the votes. More than 25 international representatives from Russia, DPR, LPR and Abkhazia follow the elections.
