Kaminsky: We may seek too much compensation from IBU due to sanctions imposed
MINSK, September 15 – RIA Novosti, Alexander Govorov. Russian national team coach Yuri Kaminsky told RIA Novosti that the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) may seek compensation from the International Biathlon Union (IBU) for sanctions against Russian athletes.
Previously, the IBU suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions under its auspices against the situation in Ukraine, and suspended the membership of the RBU and the Belarusian Biathlon Federation (BFB). These decisions were taken in line with the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
In April, Wimbledon organizers refused to allow Russian and Belarusian tennis players to compete due to the situation in Ukraine, in response, the Professional Tennis Players Association (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) decided not to do so. Give rating points to Wimbledon attendees.
