US Olympic Committee sees Russian return to international competitions inevitable
MOSCOW, September 16 – RIA Novosti. Suzanne Lyons, President of the US Olympic Committee statedHe noted that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is considering the return of Russian athletes to international competitions and this will inevitably happen.
At the end of February, the IOC recommended that international sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in competitions due to the situation in Ukraine. A number of IFs have followed this recommendation.
On September 8, IOC Director of Communications Mark Adams said that all IOC protective measures and sanctions against Russians remain in place.
