Manager Tolochko: Poletaev suffered injury again in the match against Dynamo
KAZAN, May 10 – RIA Novosti, Vadim Kuznetsov. Coach Andrey Tolochko, St. Zenit volleyball player from St. Petersburg and the Russian national team said that Viktor Poletaev was injured again, so he missed the match for the third place in the Russian championship.
Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Poletaev missed most of the season due to knee problems. “Zenith” lost 0-3 to Kazan in the match for the third place and remained without a medal.
“I don’t like to make excuses. The season is definitely insufficient. They expect other results from us. Injuries affected everyone, not just us. We prepared, but the last game was sad. We shouldn’t play like that. It’s not about the score, it’s about how we lost”, – said the “Zenith” coach.
