Champions League champion Goran Pandev retires at age 39
MOSCOW, September 23 – RIA Novosti. North Macedonian football player Goran Pandev announced his retirement at the age of 39.
Pandev has been banned from his Instagram page (Meta’s activities (Facebook and Instagram social networks) as extremist in Russia).
During his career, Pandev played for Italian Inter, Spezia, Ancona, Lazio, Napoli, Genoa and Parma, as well as Macedonian Belasitsa and Turkish Galatasaray. Together with Inter, he won the championship, the country’s Cup and Super Cup, the Champions League and the clubs world championship. He holds the record for the North Macedonia national team in matches (122) and goals scored (38). In 2021, Pandev scored against the Austrians at 37 years and 322 days old, becoming the oldest field goal scorer in European Championship history.
