“Barys” announce signing of former forward “Columbus” and “Montreal” Chapu
MOSCOW, September 25 – RIA Novosti. According to the official website of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) club, Astana “Barys” has signed a contract with Canadian striker Michael Chapu.

A 1-season contract was signed with the 30-year-old striker.
Chapu was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010. In total, he played 182 games in the National Hockey League (NHL), playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens and Arizona Coyotes. Last season, the forward played for Pittsburgh Penguins farm club Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. For 57 meetings there, the player recorded 33 points (12 goals + 21 assists).
