Legkov: Maybe the FIS is not against our performance, but everything depends on other countries
Petersburg, September 30 – RIA Novosti, Dmitry Edigarev. Olympic ski champion Alexander Legkov told RIA Novosti that the International Ski Federation (FIS) may not be against the return of Russians to international competitions, but everything depends on other countries.
Earlier, Vyalbe, who is currently at the FIS meeting in Zurich, said, through a video link of a Sports Power forum as part of Russia, at a meeting with the leadership of the organization, that he was given the understanding after the announcement of partial mobilization. In the referendums held in Russia and in the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, the issue of granting neutral status to Russian athletes was de facto removed from the FIS agenda.
Partial mobilization has been declared in Russia since September 21, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, it is necessary to control the 1000-kilometer line of contact and liberated areas in Ukraine. During the mobilization, a total of 300,000 reservists will be called in, which is just over 1% of the total mobilization resource of the Russian Federation.
