Swedish Boxing Federation boycotted tournaments attended by athletes from Russia and Belarus
MOSCOW, October 7 – RIA Novosti. Swedish Boxing Federation President Per-Axel Sjöholm said that national team athletes will not participate in tournaments where Russians and Belarusians are allowed to participate.
The International Boxing Federation (IBA) announced on Wednesday that athletes from Russia and Belarus have been accepted into the competition. Russian and Belarusian boxers will be able to compete in international tournaments under the flags of their countries, and if they win, the national anthems will be played.
The current president of IBA is Russian Umar Kremlev, who was re-elected for the new term at the organization’s congress held in Istanbul on 14 May.
