Avangard chairman of the board opposes tightening of the legionnaire limit in the KHL
MOSCOW, May 13 – RIA Novosti. Avangard Alexander Krylov, chairman of the board of directors of the Omsk club of the Continental Hockey League (KHL), told reporters that he is against tightening the legionnaire limit.
In March, Finnish defenders Oliver Kaski and Ville Pokka voluntarily terminated their contracts and had to pay Avangard compensation. The club turned to the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) for clarification.
“We made such an equalization: We deducted this compensation from the remaining bonuses. This is common practice, this is nothing new. The rights belong to the club, in fact, it has no debts. We have a more global question. : What will happen next with transfer cards? The World Championship will be held and We will have to get an answer from the IIHF.What will these rights be in the future, how will the signing clubs pay for it?The club’s general manager Alexei Volkov also attended the press conference.
