Bild: Bayern not happy about being called up to the national team for Mane injured in 2022 World Cup
MOSCOW, November 11 – RIA Novosti. German football club Bayern is not happy that the coach of the Senegal national team has invited injury-recovered striker Sadio Mane to the World Cup, Bild journalist Christian Falk said on Twitter.
During the championship match against Werder Bremen in Germany, Mane injured the fibular head of his right leg (6:1). In the coming days, the 30-year-old forward will undergo additional tests. Senegal national team doctor Manuel Afonso flew to Munich to assess the severity of the injury. On Wednesday, L’Equipe reported that Mane was unable to play in the World Cup due to injury, with the player being included in the team’s final squad for the tournament.
Mane transferred from England to Bayern in the summer and has recorded 11 goals and 4 assists in 23 games. He placed second in the voting for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
The World Championship will be held from 20 November to 18 December. The Senegal national team will compete in Group A with teams from Qatar, Ecuador and the Netherlands.
