MOSCOW, November 12 – RIA Novosti, Oleg Bogatov. Viktor Farkhutdinov, head coach of the Russian men’s boxing team, told RIA Novosti that Olympic champion Albert Batyrgaziev had a high-level duel with Panamanian Ricardo Nunez in the professional ring and rightfully won.
According to the World Boxing Association (WBA) Nunez, in a 10-round fight in Moscow on Friday, by unanimous decision of the judges, the Russian defeated the former contender for the world title.
The agency’s source said, “And during the fight, I had no doubts that Albert would win. Still, I repeat, his opponent was very strong and sometimes good punches. Albert won honorably.”
The 24-year-old Batyrgaziev currently has seven wins (five by knockout) despite being undefeated in the professional ring. Nunez is 29 years old and has 23 wins (21 by knockout) and four losses.
