Knierim and Frazier win the Figure Skating Grand Prix in Sheffield
MOSCOW, November 12 – RIA Novosti. American figure skaters Alexa Knierim and Brandon Fraser are the winners of the double skating competition at the Grand Prix series stage in British Sheffield.
Knierim and Frazier, who rose to the leadership after the short program, also won the free skating with a total of 205.85 points with 129.97 points. Sarah Conti and Niccolò Machii from Italy came second with 184.19 points, followed by Germany’s Letizia Roscher and Luis Schuster with 167.37.
Against the backdrop of events in Ukraine on March 1, the Council of the International Skating Union (ISU) banned Russian and Belarusian figure skaters, speed skaters and short track skaters from participating in international tournaments. In June, the ISU Congress approved this resolution, valid until further notice.
