SAMARA, November 20 – RIA Novosti, Vlad Zhukov. Figure skater Andrey Mozalev said that during the running of a free program at the Russian Grand Prix stage in Samara, the lace was stalled after a fall because it flew off the hook in the trunk.
After falling in the first element, Mozalev had to stop and lace up his boot. The skater received seven penalty points for stalling and falling. He took fourth place.
“When I got off Salchow, the lace broke. I realized I couldn’t continue. I had to take a break to tie it. Tape could have helped, but I stopped doing it. I’ll be more careful with the Russians. I’ll definitely wrap it with tape,” Mozalev told reporters.
Mozalev added, “I experienced something like this somewhere. Something happened to the music at the stage of the Russian Cup … But it was no longer my fault. Then I shifted the short program by half, as in training.”
