Gulf Today: Saudi Arabian football player diagnosed with jaw fracture
MOSCOW, November 23 – RIA Novosti. According to the news of Gulf Today, Saudi Arabian national football team defender Yasser al-Shahrani broke his jawbone during the first round match of the World Cup group stage played with the Argentina team in Qatar.
Saudi Arabia beat Argentina 2-1 on Tuesday. In the 5th minute of the game in Lusail, Saudi Arabian goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais hit al-Shahrani’s knee on the head as he was getting the ball out. When the player who fell on the grass could not continue the match, he was removed from the field with a stretcher.

Al-Shahrani was diagnosed with fractures of several facial bones and internal bleeding, in addition to a broken jaw. The player will need emergency surgery. Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly ordered al Shahrani to be taken to Germany by a private jet for treatment after his injuries.
