Group F match took place at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Ar Rayyan on Wednesday and ended with a score of 1-0. Canadian striker Teijon Buchanan missed a penalty in the 8th minute.
“Obviously we had to show the other side of our game. I’m happy we won thanks to the stamina and experience and skill of our goalkeeper who kept us in the game by taking a penalty. Today it’s more to win. It’s more important than just a good game,” added the coach.
In the second round, the Belgians will play against Morocco on 27 November.
