Salnikov: “Friendly Games” was similar to the World Swimming Championships in terms of record numbers
KAZAN, November 25 – RIA Novosti, Vadim Kuznetsov. The head of the All-Russian Swimming Federation, Vladimir Salnikov, said that the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship, held as part of the Friendship Games international competition, is not inferior to the World Championship in terms of results.
The competitions were held in Kazan from 20-25 November. In total, more than 25 records were broken, including one world record. It was installed by Kliment Kolesnikov at 50 meters on his back.
According to Salnikov, the tournament in Kazan can be called the best in the history of Russian swimming.
“The harder the situation for us, the stronger we get. I’m glad that Kazan is at World Cup level in terms of results, attention and design. The athletes felt that atmosphere and they did not disappoint us.” Salnikov added it.
