MOSCOW, November 26 – RIA Novosti. The Australian tennis team beat Croatia in the Davis Cup semi-finals to reach the final of the tournament.
The fight between the two teams in Malaga (Spain) ended 2-1. In the first leg, Borna Coric (Croatia) defeated Tanasi Kokkinakis (Australia) 6:4, 6:3. In the second match, Alex de Minaur (Australia) was stronger than Marin Cilic (Croatia) 6:2, 6:2. In the decisive doubles match, Australia’s Jordan Thompson and Max Purcell beat Croatia’s Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic with scores of 6:7 (3:7), 7:5, 6:4.

In the Davis Cup final, Australia will face the winner of Saturday’s match between Italy and Canada.
The current winner of the Davis Cup is the Russian team. Since the International Tennis Federation (ITF) suspended the membership of the Russian and Belarusian federations in March, the team is not participating in the current tournament. Russian and Belarusian athletes cannot participate in team competitions under the auspices of the ITF.
