Team Canada beat Italy to advance to Davis Cup final

The semi-final match played in Spanish Malaga ended with a score of 2-1. In the first match, Lorenzo Sonego (Italy) beat Denis Shapovalov (Canada) with a score of 7:6 (7:4), 6:7 (5:7), 6:4. In the second match, Felix Auger-Aliassime (Canada) defeated Lorenzo Musetti (Italy) 6:3, 6:4. In the decisive doubles match, Canadians Auger-Aliassime and Vasek Pospisil beat Matteo Berrettini and Fabio Fognini 7:6 (7:2), 7:5.
Canada will face Australia in the final on November 27.
The current winner of the Davis Cup is the Russian team. Since the International Tennis Federation (ITF) suspended the membership of the Russian and Belarusian federations in March, the team is not participating in the current tournament. Russian and Belarusian athletes cannot participate in team competitions under the auspices of the ITF.
