On 24 November, the Portuguese national team defeated the Ghanaians (3:2) in the Group H match. After the win, Ronaldo organized a team dinner and paid the bill. Joao Cancela, Jose Sa and Bernardo Silva, who decided to spend time with their loved ones, missed the meeting.

On Tuesday, Manchester United announced the termination of the contract with Ronaldo by mutual agreement of the parties. Earlier, Ronaldo said in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan that United betrayed him. He criticized the club’s management and coaching staff, stating that he did not respect the team’s head coach Erik ten Hag.
