Russian hockey player Svechnikov said he would not apply for an American passport.
MOSCOW, November 29 – RIA Novosti. Striker “Carolina” Andrey Svechnikov saidWhether he plans to issue an American passport, following the example of other Russian players in the National Hockey League (NHL) – Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin.
The forward also admitted that he does not feel the characteristics of an American in himself and does not consider the United States to be his home.
Svechnikov is 22 years old and has been playing for Carolina since 2018. The Russian player scored 22 (13+9) points in 22 games this season.
