Sky Sport Italia: Prosecutors will seek prosecution of former Juventus executives
MOSCOW, December 1 – RIA Novosti. The Turin prosecutor’s office signed a petition to initiate criminal proceedings against 12 former presidents of the football club, including former president Andrea Agnelli, as part of the investigation into the financial statements of Juventus. informs Sky Sport Italy.
According to Italian law, a court session must be scheduled within a few days at which a decision will be made on the continuation of the process, the acceptance of an indictment or the absence of grounds for a hearing.
On Monday, Juventus announced the resignation of the team’s board of directors. Agnelli, Vice President Pavel Nedved and CEO Maurizio Arrivabene leave their posts. Agnelli has been president of Juventus since 2010. Nedvěd has been the club’s vice president since 2015.
Previously, Italian authorities accused Juventus of hiding around 200m euros in losses over a three-year period. The club allegedly used false credentials and manipulated lease agreements to do so.
