Cameroonian football player Ondua said that he made his dream come true by playing in the World Cup.
MOSCOW, December 3 – RIA Novosti. Gael Ondua, the Russian national midfielder of the Cameroon national team, said that he made his dream come true by participating in the World Cup.
Cameroon’s national team defeated Brazil (1-0) in the third round match of the World Cup group stage held in Qatar on Friday, but failed to qualify for the playoffs. Ondua, a Russian citizen, played as a substitute in matches against the Swiss (0:1) and Serbians (3:3).

“This championship is over for us! Yes we beat Brazil but it wasn’t enough to go further. I will remember these days in Qatar for my whole life. Both positive team moments and all the chances we failed to convert. We didn’t go any further but that’s life,” wrote Ondua on Telegram in the channel.
Ondua was born in Cameroon but has been living in Russia since childhood. The football player began his career in the youth team of Moscow Lokomotiv. He also played for CSKA Moscow, Zorya Lugansk, Anji Makhachkala, Swiss Servette and Danish Vejle. Now it represents the German “Hanover”.
