Kozhevnikov announced the departure of Znark from the problems of “Ak Bars” in the team and its consequences
MOSCOW, December 3 – RIA Novosti, Oleg Bogatov. Two-time Olympic champion Alexander Kozhevnikov told RIA Novosti that Oleg Znarok left his post as head coach of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) Ak Bars Kazan team, apparently due to internal problems within the team and the low results of the club.
On Friday, “Ak Bars” announced the departure of Znark voluntarily. Earlier that day, the team defeated Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 3:2 at home in the KHL regular season game. Kazan, who scored 38 points in 36 games, is seventh in the Eastern Conference standings. Znarok has been the head of Ak Bars since July 2022. The previous club of the specialist was Spartak Moscow, which he led from 2019 to 2021. Then Znarok became the coach-advisor of the Russian youth team.
