Belarusian biathletes Alimbekova and Smolsky won the only mixed pair at the Cup of Russia
MOSCOW, December 4 – RIA Novosti. Belarus’ team, consisting of Dinara Alimbekova and Anton Smolsky, won the single mixed relay in the second stage of the Russian Biathlon Cup held in Uvat (Tyumen region).
The time for the winners who entered a penalty loop and used seven reserve rounds was 43 minutes 27.2 seconds. The second result was shown by the first team of the Tyumen region, consisting of Victoria Slivko and Vadim Istamgulov (6.7 seconds delay; 6 misses), the team of the Sverdlovsk region completed the top three – Tamara Derbusheva and Kirill Bazhin (+24.3; 4).
The second stage of the Russian Cup in Uvat will conclude with a medley relay on 4 December.
The Congress of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in September decided to approve the ban of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until further notice due to the situation in Ukraine.
