The Sun: Footballer Sterling leaves England team for burglary at home
MOSCOW, December 5 – RIA Novosti. England striker Raheem Sterling had to leave the national team due to the burglary at the World Cup held in Qatar, The Sun reported.
England team on Sunday announced that Sterling will not be featured in the World Cup 1/8 final (3-0) against Senegal for family reasons.
According to the newspaper’s report, Sterling learned of the incident at his home in Surrey (South East England) on Saturday evening.
The footballer is expected to soon return to Qatar, where the English team will play with the reigning champion French team in the quarter-finals of the World Cup on 10 December.
In the current World Cup draw, Sterling appeared in two games, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
