Doctors said there was a positive trend in Pele’s health.
MOSCOW, December 6 – RIA Novosti. Based on a statement from the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, Globo reported that the health status of Pelé, a three-time world football champion for the Brazilian national team, is showing a positive trend.
Pele was hospitalized on 30 November. An 82-year-old Brazilian was diagnosed with heart failure and general body edema, including confusion. Pele was reportedly hospitalized “to reassess the results of chemotherapy treatment for a colon tumor diagnosed in September 2021”. According to the claims of the daughters of the former football player, Pele was hospitalized for a lung infection caused by a coronavirus that was transferred about three weeks ago.
Media on Saturday reported that Pele’s body had stopped responding to chemotherapy and was receiving palliative care, which consisted of relieving pain symptoms and creating a comfortable state for terminal illnesses. Pele reassured fans that he was continuing the treatment as usual.
In 2022, Pele was hospitalized twice at Albert Einstein Hospital for activities related to the treatment of three malignant tumors (bowel, liver and lung) and a urinary tract infection.
