Bolshunov wins the chase race in classic style at the Russian Cup stage
CHUSOVOY (Perm Territory), December 13 – RIA Novosti. Three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov won the classic-style 15km pursuit in the third stage of the Russian Cup in cross-country skiing in Chusovoy (Perm Territory).
Bolshunov covered the distance in 39 minutes and 21.9 seconds. Second place went to Ilya Semikov, 58.6 seconds behind. The third was Denis Spitsov (+59.8). Olympic champions Alexei Chervotkin (+2.08.2) and Sergei Ustyugov (+3.03.6) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
The third stage of the Cup of Russia in Chusovoy began on Saturday and will end on Tuesday.
The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has suspended Russians and Belarusians from last season’s final starts due to the situation in Ukraine. In October, the FIS Council extended the suspension for the 2022/23 season.
