Vylegzhanin believes that the competition with Stepanova will lead skiers to a good result
MOSCOW, December 16 – RIA Novosti, Svetlana Bonopartova. Russian skier Maxim Vylegzhanin, a three-time Olympic silver medalist, told RIA Novosti that the competition with 2022 Olympic champion Veronika Stepanova can lead athletes to high results.
Previously, Stepanova was the winner of the 10 km pursuit race in classical style in the third stage of the Russian Cup in Chusovoy (Perm Territory). Numerous Olympic medalists, Natalya Nepryaeva, missed the tournament due to illness.
“Probably, it’s just the opponents who find motivation to defeat Veronika and become stronger than her. I think such a competition will lead to a good result. Is it possible to beat Stepanova? Everything is possible,” added Vylegzhanin.
