UFA, 17 December – RIA Novosti, Alexander Govorov. The President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maigurov told reporters that the world biathlon has lost its fun without Russian and Belarusian athletes.
In March 2022, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from all competitions under its auspices.
“I think that justice will prevail in any case. I have repeatedly stated that we are ready to return to international competitions at any time during the recovery period. Everyone aims to minimize the number of questions to us. Of course, this world biathlon loses its fun without Russia and Belarus. All athletes have to compete with all strong opponents. I wouldn’t say that the world biathlon will die without us, it won’t happen, but the losses can be considered significant.” Maygurov said.
