SKA head coach Rotenberg congratulates Ovechkin after scoring his 802nd NHL goal
st. Petersburg, December 24 – RIA Novosti, Dmitry Edigarev. SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg congratulated Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin for reaching second place on the list of the best snipers in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL) in an interview with reporters.
Ovechkin recorded a double and an assist in the NHL’s regular season game (4-1) against Winnipeg on Friday. With his 801st and 802nd career goals, the Russian is a clean second on the NHL’s all-time top scorers list, ahead of Gordie Howe (801). Wayne Gretzky holds the league record with 894 goals.
