Pele’s funeral was buried from the stadium in Santos
SANTUS (Brazil), 3 January – RIA Novosti. According to the RIA Novosti correspondent, the funeral of three-time world football champion Pele was taken to the burial place from the Santos stadium, where the farewell took place.
The convoy with coffins is accompanied by a crowd of Pele’s fans. The body of a football player will be taken to a vertical cemetery on the streets of Santos, which gradually entered the Guinness Book of Records. This is a high-rise building with more than 30 floors.
Pele himself bought a place in this cemetery 19 years ago. He explained his choice by the fact that this place does not look like a cemetery to him, but carries a sense of inner peace and tranquility. This cemetery was built by the Argentinean José Altstut, who was a friend of Pele. Relatives and friends of the football player are buried in this place.
Pele died on December 29, at the age of 82, after a long illness.
