Iveco and Macik’s Czech crew won the third stage of the Dakar rally between trucks
MOSCOW, January 3 – RIA Novosti. Iveco’s Czech crew led by Martin Macik won the third stage of the Dakar rally in Saudi Arabia in the truck category.
Due to bad weather conditions, the distance of the stage was reduced to 377 km. Macik’s TIR completed the third special stage in 4 hours, 3 minutes and 3 seconds. Tatra crew led by Czech Jaroslav Waltra took second place with a delay of 4 minutes 7 seconds, while Iveco and Dutchman Martin van den Brink (+4.08) took third place.
French Guerlain Chichery won the third stage in the off-road category with a time of 3:22.57 in Prodrive. South African Hank Lategan (Toyota, +3.26) was second, and Orlando Terranova (Prodrive, +5.04) was third.
In the motorcycle classification, Australia’s Daniel Sanders (GAS, 4:09.35) was first in stage, Argentina’s Kevin Benavidez (KTM, +5.08) was second, and USA’s Skyler Howes (Husqvarna, +9.18) was third.
In the ATV classification, French Alexander Giroux (4:44.31) came first (4:44.31), Argentina’s Francisco Moreno Flores (+14.13) came second, Slovak Juraj Varga (+15.42) came third. All of the top three are performing at Yamaha.
