The Sharjah Labor Standards Development Authority will launch the 6th edition of the “Sharjah Labor Sports Championships” on the playgrounds of Sharjah National Park tomorrow Saturday, with games to be played every Saturday from 7am to 5pm. 30:00, for three months until March 18.
Around 2,000 players will participate in this edition of the tournament, divided into more than 100 teams representing governmental and private bodies and institutions. These teams are divided into five sports: football (24 teams), cricket (28 teams), hockey (20 teams), basketball (15 teams) and volleyball (15 teams). Teams will be divided into groups, from which the first and second teams will be selected to play in the final rounds.
Salem Youssef Al-Kaseer, chairman of the Labor Standards Development Authority, said: The championship aims to contribute to the sports boom in the Emirate of Sharjah, promote sports in the workplace, raise the fitness level of workers and dedicate the sports concept . as a way of life for them, as part of the government’s efforts to improve the working environment.
