Paris mayor says Parc des Princes will not be sold to PSG owners
MOSCOW, January 15 – RIA Novosti. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said that the capital’s Parc des Princes stadium is the private heritage of the citizens and that the arena will not be sold to the owners of the Paris Saint-Germain football club.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, head of Qatar’s PSG, described the purchase of the municipally-owned stadium as a condition for carrying out modernization and 500m-euro expansion work.
The Parc des Princes stadium opened in 1897 and was originally a velodrome. The Arena has been PSG’s home since 1974. Its capacity is 48 thousand people. Parc des Princes was last rebuilt in 1972.
