Italian Alberto Dainese wins the eleventh stage of the Giro d’Italia
MOSCOW, May 18 – RIA Novosti. DSM’s Italian cyclist Alberto Dainese won the 11th stage of the Grand Tour home stage Giro d’Italia.
Dainese completed the 203km stage from Santarcangelo di Romagna to Reggio Emilia in 4 hours 19 minutes 4 seconds. Colombian Fernando Gaviria (UAE Team Emirates) finished second and Italian Simone Consonni was third.
Pavel Sivakov, the French flag cyclist from Ineos Grenadiers, finished 46th, showing the lead like Gaviria and Consonni.
Spaniard Juan Pedro Lopez (Trek – Segafredo) is the leader in the general classification of the multi-day race with a total time of 46 hours 43 minutes 12 seconds. Ecuador’s Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) finished second and Portugal’s Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates) finished third, both 12 seconds behind the leader. Sivakov 25th (+11.54).
