Cherevchenko appointed head coach of Tajik football club “Istiklol”
MOSCOW, January 15 – RIA Novosti, Svetlana Bonopartova. Rustam Khakimov, the team’s press attaché in Dushanbe, told RIA Novosti that former head coach of Moscow “Lokomotiv” Igor Cherevchenko is the head of Tajik football club “Istiqlol”.
Cherevchenko was born in Dushanbe, 48 years old, as a football player for the Tajikistan national team. He started coaching at Lokomotiv in 2008, became head coach of the club in 2015, won the Russian Cup (2015) with the team and was fired in August 2016. After that, he headed to Kaliningrad “Baltika”, Tula “Arsenal”, suburban “Khimki”.
