Barbosa believes Dzyuba may not be able to go abroad due to non-payment at Turkish club
MOSCOW, January 18 – RIA Novosti, Pavel Levkovich. Speaking to RIA Novosti, football manager Paulo Barbosa expressed the opinion that Turkish club Adana Demirspor has not fulfilled its financial obligations under the contract with Russian striker Artem Dzyuba and therefore the striker may no longer go to a foreign club.
In November, Dzyuba terminated his contract with Adana Demirspor and became a free agent. Dziuba’s representative, Leonid Goldman, told RIA Novosti that Dziuba has received financially advantageous offers from abroad, but that the best option for the player and his family is to sign a contract with the Russian club.
“I repeat, the question is Artem’s will, especially after the experience where the team did not meet their contractual financial obligations. I don’t think Artem’s manager said anything that wasn’t there. Dziuba is a great player, he’s a free agent, it can be explained after the transfer window. Just wait and see. “We can hope. Artem deserves to play.”
Following the conclusion of the Russian championship of the 2021/22 season, Dzyuba announced that he is leaving Zenit, where he has been playing since the summer of 2015. The 34-year-old striker, together with the St. Petersburg club, became the champion of Russia four times, winning all the championships in a row. He also won the country’s two Cups and four Super Cups, becoming the top scorer in RPL history.
